At the heart of everything I create is one idea:

Community.

I believe we are still each other’s keepers.

That’s part of why I intentionally support and spotlight Black-owned businesses alongside music history, storytelling, rare grooves, and cultural commentary.

Because culture is bigger than entertainment.

It’s the people.
The neighborhoods.
The traditions.
The businesses.
The creators.
The dreamers.
The risk-takers.
The ones trying to build something lasting for themselves and their families.

When I spend with Black-owned businesses, I’m not just buying products.

I’m investing in community.
In circulation.
In visibility.
In creativity.
In legacy.

That’s also why I create worlds like Hurston Heights and projects like Funky Tales — because I believe we need spaces that reconnect us to the richness, humor, beauty, rhythm, storytelling, and humanity of our true culture.

Not stereotypes.
Not algorithms.
Not trends.

REAL connection.

To me, all of it is connected:
the music,
the memories,
the stories,
the businesses,
the people.
